Finding dog treats that are actually healthy is harder than it should be. Most store-bought options are packed with fillers, junk ingredients, and artificial flavors. That’s why so many dog parents limit how many treats they give – they assume all treats are junk food by default.

If that’s you, it’s time to switch to healthy treats that actually nourish your dog’s body and support their overall health and wellbeing.

Why I Only Recommend Freeze-Dried Dog Treats

Freeze-dried treats are the only type I recommend – and the only ones I use with all my dog clients during dog training sessions.

They’re 100% natural, made purely from protein, and low in calories.

No preservatives, no colors, no artificial flavors. The protein is ethically sourced, making these treats a safe, natural food you can give generously – especially since many dogs don’t get enough quality protein in their daily diet (Those eating highly processed kibble, for example).

I also prefer single-ingredient freeze-dried treats where the protein keeps its most natural texture possible.

And remember, treats are an act of love first and foremost. I’m unapologetically generous with healthy, delicious treats during training – they make dogs genuinely happy.

Organs (like liver, heart, and kidney) should be given in smaller amounts compared to muscle meat.

As a rule of thumb, I use roughly 80% muscle meat to 20% organs when mixing both types of freeze-dried treats.

Who These Dog Treats Are For

The dog treats below are suitable for all dogs and puppies, including those with sensitive stomachs, seniors, overweight dogs, and even diabetic pups.

They’re perfect for on-the-go snacking, in-between meals, treat-hunting games, walks, and general training sessions.

The only exception is dogs with allergies to a specific protein. If your pup reacts to one, simply skip that particular protein type.
