Vancouver Dog Behavior Breakthrough Session
Behind Every Behavior Problem is a Dog Doing Their Best to Cope
Move past obedience, suppression, and control to uncover what’s driving your dog’s struggles and help them move from survival to safety.
A powerful, 3-hour in-person deep dive for conscious, loving dog parents ready to gain clarity on their dog’s behavior, and finally turn things around.
Hi, I’m Doaa: A Holistic Dog Trainer, Vancouver
I’m a holistic and professional dog trainer in Vancouver, BC who has worked with a wide variety of dogs across different countries, environments, and behavioral challenges throughout my life.
But more importantly, I see dogs as emotional beings trying to communicate, cope, adapt, and feel safe in a world humans rarely slow down enough to understand.
Over the years, I’ve developed a deep level of compassion, respect, empathy, and understanding toward dogs of all backgrounds, personalities, and behaviors.
And I don’t need to meet your dog to tell you this:
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your dog.
Dog behavior is communication.
What mainstream training labels as “behavior problems” are actually the direct result of unmet needs, survival struggles, emotional overwhelm, disconnection, and miscommunication. It is simply two beings who adore each other, but don’t speak the same language yet.
I designed this 3-hour dog behavior breakthrough session as the entry point into my obedience-free, holistic dog training approach, where dogs are seen, heard, valued, and understood.
In this clarity session, we will uncover the root causes behind your dog’s reactivity, anxiety, and fear. By analyzing their unique emotional state, your relationship dynamics, and figuring out what we need to undo, change, or add to strengthen your connection, and help your dog live their life to the fullest.
Is This Behavior Breakthrough Session For You?
Every dog is welcome here.
Your dog deserves understanding, not judgment.
This session is for all dogs of any age (puppies, adults, or senior dogs), any dog breed (including rescue dogs), and those struggling with any and all behavior problems.
Whether your dog is struggling with reactivity, fear, anxiety, stress, aggression, survival barking, past trauma, leash reactivity, separation anxiety, food guarding, environmental stress, frustration, hyper-attachment, relationship conflicts with other family members, selective reactivity, or is a new dog or puppy, this is for them.
Your dog’s behavior doesn’t define them.
This is right for you if:
I do this work because I genuinely want to help Vancouver dogs become happier, more fulfilled, and better understood by solving their problems and meeting their needs.
Even though this is a one-off session, I still want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the dogs I work with. That’s why I choose to partner with loving, conscious, and action-oriented dog parents who are just as committed and invested in their dog’s well-being as I am, and who are willing to implement the foundational changes that make real progress possible.
If that sounds like you, then we’re a great fit.
You view your dog as family, and believe in working with them, not against them.
You are open-minded, growth-oriented, and willing to see your dog’s behavior from a completely different perspective.
You are willing to self-reflect, look at your own blind spots, emotional triggers, and communication patterns.
You feel misunderstood by traditional dog training because you refuse to treat your dog like a machine to fix, suppress, or control.
You are done with quick fixes, obedience drills, force-free checklists, and transactional treat-bribes, and want a more mindful, holistic approach.
You don’t want a robotic dog. You want a confident, emotionally regulated, fulfilled canine companion.
You genuinely want to understand your dog more deeply, strengthen your connection, and learn how to help them feel safe in real-life situations.
You want to build your dog’s confidence, upgrade their lifestyle, improve their nutrition, learn how to regulate their nervous system, and make them happy and fulfilled.
You value trust, transparency, and deeply personalized support over generic, one-size-fits-all training.
You’re action-oriented and willing to implement the action plan, because progress and lasting results come from implementation and consistent practice.

FAQ
Do you work with all dog breeds and ages?
Absolutely. All dogs are welcome here regardless of breed, age, history, or behavior.
It will be my honor to work with yours and help them thrive.
My dog is “aggressive”. Is it safe to have an in-person session?
There’s no such thing as an “aggressive” dog.
What people call aggression is often a nervous system response from a dog stuck in survival mode because the challenge is beyond your dog’s ability to handle.
I work within your dog’s limits to help them slowly move from survival to safety.
Can I book this session if I have more than one dog?
Yes. We’ll split our time between your dogs while focusing more on the one needing the most support.
Can I book this session if I live in a multi pet household?
Yes. We will do our best to support all your cats and dogs living together, while focusing on the dog who needs help the most.
Can one session really help with my dog’s reactivity or anxiety?
Yes. This session is designed to create a major clarity shift and give you a clear roadmap for moving forward.
What mainstream culture labels as a “reactive dog” is often an overwhelmed dog stuck in an active survival loop.
Our goal is to help your dog move out of survival mode and back toward safety while building confidence around their current triggers. A confident dog feels bigger than their environment and more capable of navigating challenges without becoming overwhelmed.
When dogs feel safer, more supported, and better regulated, they are often able to respond to the world with greater calm, confidence, and resilience.
Who will I have this session with?
You’ll work directly with me. I do not outsource my work or employ other trainers.
Every session is intuitive, mindful, and personalized based on the dog and human in front of me.
How long is this session?
It’s a 3-hour in-person session that includes a walk, socialization, and a home walkthrough to better understand your dog, your relationship dynamics, and how your dog feels and responds in real-life situations.
Where will this session take place?
This session takes place at your home and in your neighborhood within Vancouver central locations.
What’s your Vancouver service area?
I offer in-person dog training in Kitsilano, Downtown, West End, Yaletown, Fairview, Mount Pleasant, and East Vancouver.
If you live outside Vancouver but within the Lower Mainland, we can still have this session together by bringing your dog to Vancouver.
What gears do you use for leash walking?
I only need a comfortable well-fitted harness, and ideally a 6-ft leash. We will upgrade your current gears, if we need to, to make your dog more comfortable.
I don’t use any other gears.
Will I see progress after only one session?
Yes – if you implement the foundational action plan, you’ll see real improvements.
Progress is directly tied to implementation and consistent practice.
The more of the action plan you put into place, and the more consistently you follow through, the more progress you’ll see.
My work is entirely results-driven.
Once the foundational changes are in place, we can use your dog’s feedback to refine, expand, and improve the plan as we go.
If you need help implementing any part of the training practices, I can support you with that as well.
Will I be able to implement this training with my busy schedule?
Yes. My work is entirely personalized, results-driven, and designed to fit into your lifestyle.
Rather than asking you to set aside hours for repetitive, robotic training drills, we focus on creating meaningful shifts in communication, environment, walks, and daily routines.
I do my absolute best to create an action plan that is realistic, achievable, and easy to integrate into your everyday life.
Once the foundational changes are in place, we’ll look at your dog’s feedback and refine, expand, and improve the plan accordingly.
How is holistic dog training different from traditional training?
Traditional dog training often relies heavily on obedience training, control, suppression, operant conditioning, symptom management, and even a manipulative version of positive reinforcement training. All designed to please the human at the expense of the dog.
My work focuses on emotional safety, nervous system regulation, confidence building, fulfillment, effective canine communication, and resolving the root causes of behavior problems.
I work with your dog, not against them. Their feelings, needs and wants matter A LOT.
When your dog feels safe, valued, and fulfilled, their behavior problems fade away because there’s no longer a need for them.
What does “obedience-free” actually mean?
It means we stop fighting the symptoms and start understanding the dog having them.
I don’t use control to suppress unwanted behaviors. I work with your dog to genuinely solve their problems because we are the only adults in this relation, and we are the only ones capable of resolving our dog’s struggles for good.
Do you use positive reinforcement?
If by positive reinforcement you mean positive communication; praising, celebrating, encouraging, and helping dogs feel safe, valued and truly understood, then yes, absolutely.
However, I don’t use positive reinforcement transactionally to distract, suppress, override, or manipulate behaviors while ignoring your dog’s needs or struggles.
I’m not interested in bribing dogs into compliance. I’m interested in helping them feel safer, more confident and more fulfilled.
A well-behaved dog is a well-regulated one who feels free, capable, respected, and supported by a parent who always has their back.
How do I help my dog build confidence?
Building your dog’s confidence requires a mindset shift first.
It begins with recognizing that defensive behaviors are often expressions of fear, vulnerability, overwhelm, or unmet needs. When you shift your perspective from “my dog is reactive or stubborn” to “my dog is struggling,” you can show up as a grounded, protective parent instead of a frustrated one.
During our session, we’ll map out what confidence building will look like for your dog based on their personality, current triggers, environment, unmet needs, and your relationship dynamic.
Do you only offer private in-person dog training in Vancouver?
Yes. I only offer 1:1 personalized, private coaching sessions in-home or within Vancouver central locations.
Every dog, relationship, and home dynamic is different. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
I don’t offer any group classes.
Do you offer group classes?
No. I only offer 1:1 private dog training sessions.
Every dog, relationship, and household dynamic is different, so my work is deeply personalized to the specific dog and family I’m working with in order to create meaningful, lasting success.
